2005 Peru Trip For First Presbyterian Church, Frankfort
First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort will be making a summer mission trip to Moyobamba, Peru, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 9, to Monday, June 20. After discussion with Pastor David McPherson of the Moyobamba Presbyterian Church, we felt that it would be best to try and spread out the summer mission trips to Moyobamba (from the numerous churches in the U.S.) rather than have all the groups going in July. Specific details of the trip--itinerary, work projects, logistics, opportunities for evangelism--will be forthcoming as coordination of the trip proceeds. As always, the purpose of our trip is to come alongside the Moyobamba Presbyterian Church and to partner with it in its ongoing ministries.
We will be having a call-out meeting for all interested team members sometime in early February. We will post more information about this preliminary call-out meeting on the Moyobamba blog as soon as it is scheduled.
It would be extremely helpful for all Peru network partners to similarly post their trip plans and other essential information about ministries in Moyobamba on this blog so that we can better communicate and coordinate activities with the Moyobamba Presbyterian Church.

Dear Pastors and Drs,
I have been in contact with your efforts through Dora. Initially it seemed as if my daughter and I were going to be able to join your mission team this summer but we made reservations and then sound out your departure times had changed. I am friends with John and Sheila Tuggy the Wycliffe translaters in Moyobamba. They attend my church here in the Denver area when they are in the states. I really enjoyed them as my Sunday School teachers last fall. I am a dental hygienist and plan to volunteer in the San Lukas clinic there as well as do dental education in the area. My daughter is 15 and will help me somewhat but if you have any ideas for what she can do while we are there I would really appreciate it. Is there anything that we can do that will follow-up and support the efforts that you will have done in June? We will be in the area from about July 1 to July 18. Will your church there have a vacation bible school that my daughter could help out in? Would there be something in the clinic there that you know she could do? Anything specific that you want me to do? Do you know of any specific supplies that the dental part of the clinic could use? Who would I talk to about that? Do you know if they have a slow-speed handpiece in the dental clinic area? Do they have an ultrasonic cavitron for a hygienist to use? Do you know how I could get a hold of any previous hygienists that have been there? I realize these are alot of requests but would really appreciate your help. This will be the 4th mission trip that I have been on but my first to Peru. I wish I could attend your conference in a few weekends but am saving up for this mission trip.
